Effective teamwork is indispensable for sustaining organizational competitiveness and long-term success. An important determinant of team effectiveness is team expertise, that is, the ability to effectively leverage upon the knowledge and expertise of all team members. In this book chapter, we provide a critical review of the team reflection research to argue that team reflection is an important driver for the development and attainment of expertise in teams.
