Invitation: Prof. Anseel talks about "Learning from experience through systematic reflection"

Faculty Colloquium, Special Date: October 1st, 5 p.m., Room 0544

Dear members of the Faculty, dear colleagues, dear students,

we are very pleased to invite you to the talk of Prof. Frederik Anseel from Ghent University on learning from experience in our Faculty Colloqium. On the occasion of the visit of Prof. Anseel and his colleague Bernd Carrette we scheduled an extra session on October 1st at 5 p.m. in Room 0544 (Building 0505 TUM School of Management).

Preview of the talk:
You learn how to go forward by looking backward: Learning from experience through systematic reflection
Although the importance of experience and reflection for someone’s development was already acknowledged by the ancient Greeks, the disadvantageous economic climate and the questionable ROI of classic training interventions have rekindled the interest in these practices. We will present recent and ongoing research that investigates the impact of different kinds of work experience (job challenge; adversity at work) on job performance. Furthermore, we will discuss our research on systematic reflection and the role of reflection for experiential learning.

You can find more information about Frederik Anseel here.

We are looking forward to a great talk and lively discussions that can be continued at dinner.
