On Juni 29th Leidy Y. Cubillos-Pinilla, research associate at the Chair of Research and Science Management, presented the preliminary results of her first PhD research project under the supervision of Dr. Franziska Emmerling and in collaboration with Dr. Roland Pfister at the Transdisciplinary Research Association on Cognition and Embodiment (TRACE) Workshop 2019 at Würzburg University. Her conference presentation was titled "Internal goals over external rules? – The cognitive and differential mechanisms underlying conditional rule breaking". In this presentation, she showed that conditional rule breaking skill is possible to be measured in a computerised setting. This skill is a subform of rule breaking, defined as the ability to carefully and meticulously decide whether to follow or break a rule in a specific situation according to the subsequent consequence. Interestingly, the skill is believed to be an individual antecedent of entrepreneurship.
