Managing and Leading in Higher Education
“Universities are paradoxical institutions—expected to be centers of innovation, yet often structurally resistant to change.”
- Brian J. Caldwell
In this research area, we aim to create new knowledge and insights about the management and leadership of higher education organizations. Currently, our focus lies on how universities manage digital transformation and its barriers. In addition, we investigate the work conditions of the personnel in higher education management during profound changes caused by new digital technologies or by higher education reforms, such as in the context of the worldwide new public management movement and the Bologna process.
