Research Associate (m/f/d)

Within the BMBF-funded project SeeHerTech, starting from 1 October 2024, the Chair of Research and Science Management at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is offering the following position:

Research Associate (m/f/d)

with the possibility of pursuing a doctoral degree (75%, E13 TV-L; initially limited to three years).

About us and SeeHerTech
TUM is among the top universities in Europe, distinguished by excellence in research and teaching, interdisciplinarity, and talent development. At the Chair of Research and Science Management, our focus lies on leadership and leadership development in the digital age, the management of research organizations, and the attraction and development of diverse talents. We employ a wide range of methodologies including interviews, surveys, experiments, biophysiological studies, and virtual reality. While we publish in high-impact international journals (e.g., Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes) we also foster close collaboration with practitioners. Our project "SeeHerTech: Individualisierte Kommunikationsstrategien in der Hochtechnologiebranche: Wie innovative Unternehmerinnen und Wissenschaftlerinnen sichtbarer werden" aims to increase the visibility of innovative women, their achievements, and inventions. In collaboration with the University of Paderborn, we are investigating the communication strategies of female scientists (focus TUM) and female entrepreneurs, identifying success factors, and developing an AI-assisted communication tool.

Your tasks
• Scientific work on the project, e.g., screening international research literature, designing studies, recruiting participants, coordinating with participating individuals/organizations, data management and analysis
• Writing reports and scientific publications in German and English
• Transfer of research findings into practice, e.g., developing recommendations for action and co-organizing workshops/events in collaboration with our project partner

Requirements
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Psychology, Social Sciences, Management, Communication/Learning Sciences, Organizational Behavior or a similar area
• Knowledge in empirical methods and statistics (e.g., SPSS, R), first experience in designing and conducting empirical studies (e.g., experiments), and high readiness to learn
• Explicit interest in social/work and organizational psychology, particularly diversity and gender research, innovation and (science) communication
• Initiative, passion for research, strong self-motivation, and conscientiousness
