The FührMINT ll project investigated gender-specific differences in the perception and evaluation of destructive leadership in academia, again with a special focus on the male-dominated STEM disciplines. Within the project, we aimed to determine the prevalence of perceived destructive leadership of male and female professors in STEM disciplines in Germany, and investigated gender differences and the role of gender stereotypes in the perception and evaluation of destructive leader behaviors. We conducted several studies to investigate our research questions and developed guidelines and interventions for practitioners to facilitate constructive leadership in academia and counter gender biases in leader evaluations.
