Leadership in the Digital Age
"Technology, like art, is a soaring exercise of the human imagination."
Daniel Bell
Changes due to digitization and technological progress shape the way we collaborate, communicate and perform within the organizational setting. In this research area, our goal is to better understand how we can empower leadership through technology and how we can leverage technology for leadership training. We focus on how virtual reality can be used to empower leadership training through immersion and embodiment. Furthermore, we investigate the role of gender in VR training. We explore and identify psychological and organizational mechanisms that support adaptive capacity, effectiveness and innovation. Combining various research methods, such as experiments in immersive virtual reality, lab, and online experiments, we investigate the topics that are essential for individual and organizational success of large corporates, new ventures, and academic institutions.
