The 85th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Management (AOM) took place at the Bella Center in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 25 July to 29 July 2025. As the world’s premier event for scholarly engagement in management and organization, the conference gathered more than 13,000 participants from across the globe. This year’s rich program featured over 2,000 sessions across AOM’s divisions and interest groups, offering a platform for cutting-edge research, networking, and vibrant academic exchange.
Several researchers affiliated with our team contributed to this year’s conference.
Anely Bekbergenova presented two papers: “Female Founders – Agency, Communion, and Uncertainty on Crunchbase” and “Charismatic Signaling in Academic Settings: Evidence from Thesis Competitions”, presented in a symposium on charisma in organizational life. She also contributed to a poster presentation titled “Intersecting Identities: The Effects of Gender and Age on Perceptions of Leadership”.
Clarissa Zwarg shared insights from her research on ethical development: She presented a talk titled “Do Organizations Plant Seeds of Moral Development? A Sensemaking Approach in Early Career Stages” in the session “Beyond the Individual: The Role of Relationships, the Environment, and Time in Employee Growth”. Together with Martin Fladerer and Armin Pircher Verdorfer (University of Amsterdam Business School), she also organized a panel session on “Ethical Dimensions in Career Development”, including leading career scholars.
Leidy Cubillos Pinilla took part in The PhD and Early-Career Consortium. Furthermore, she presented two papers in the symposium on Neuroscience Innovation titled “Decoding Diversity, Decision-Making, and Entrepreneurial Intention”, which earned the Best Symposium Award in the Organizational Neuroscience and Biology division of the AOM, and presented the paper titled "Mapping the Entrepreneurial Mindset" in the session named Inside the Entrepreneurial Mind: Physiology, Fatigue, and Founding Teams.
Regina Hagl contributed to the symposium “Men’s Allyship in Organizations: Antecedents, Outcomes, and Contingencies” presenting her research with TUM-IAS Fellow Ronit Kark, Ben Shalom Cohen, and Claudia Buengeler on “Allyship in the Eye of the Beholder: The Influence of Ally Values and Motivations Across Genders.” She also organized a Professional Development Workshop on Allyship with Ronit Kark, Daniel Danzl, and Claudia Peus. Within the symposium “Destructive Leadership: The Leader, The Follower, The Third Party, and The Outsider Perspective” she presented her research with Armin Pircher Verdorfer and Claudia Peus on “Destructive Leadership, Stereotypes, and Gender: How Attributed Motives Influence Perceptions.”
Daniel Danzl presented the poster “Between Representation and Tokenism: Negotiating Precarious Visibility in Highly Gendered Fields”, and together with Regina, co-organized the Professional Development Workshop “Stand Up, Stand Together: Expert Panel and Workshop on Men's Allyship for Inclusive Organizations.”
On Monday 28th of July, current and former members of the Chair of Research and Science Management, as well as friends of the Chair gathered at an event hosted by Professor Claudia Peus.
