A new publication by Sabine Groß, Prof. Jutta Roosen, and David A. Hennessy has just been published in Preventive Veterinary Medicine. The paper investigates determinants of farms’ antibiotic consumption with a longitudinal study of pig fattening farms in Germany. Results show that the overall quantity of prescribed antibiotics has been stable but with seasonal fluctuations. Biosecurity factors turn out to be important drivers of antibiotics consumption, as well as the number of cold days within a season. Interested? Have a look here.
