Alexandra Ortmann is a postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Behavioral Research Methods at the TUM School of Management.
Alexandra investigates decision-making in social contexts using behavioral and computational methods. So far, she studied social learning and inference-making in complex decision-making tasks, simulated agents to investigate origins of domain differences in exploratory choice and advanced methods used in collaborative memory research.
Between 2019 and 2024, she pursued her Ph.D. in Cognitive Science at Stony Brook University (NY, USA). Prior to her Ph.D. she worked as a project manager at Roland Berger in the Boston and Dusseldorf offices. She completed her M.Sc. in Psychology at the University of Braunschweig and her B.Sc. at the University of Lüneburg.
Research Interests
- Decision-making under risk and uncertainty in social contexts
- Computational modeling of human decision making, inference-making and learning
- Collaborative cognition (e.g., group decision making and collaborative memory)
- Experimental, statistical, and computational methods
