Johannes Owsianowski has been a research associate at the Chair of Economics of Horticulture and Landscaping at the Technical University of Munich since October 2023. His research focuses on blockchain technology applied to supply chains in agriculture and food production. Previously, he held various professional positions in Germany and abroad (for example, at GIZ in western Africa in varied agricultural and natural resource management projects).

Johannes Owsianowski earned a master's degree in supply chain management from Panthéon-Assas University, Paris II, France in 2005 and a second master's degree from TU Kaiserslautern in "Sustainable Development Cooperation" in 2017. He is currently pursuing a PhD on the potential applications of blockchain technology in fair trade.
