Dr. Franziska Emmerling illustrates the importance of neuroscience for effective leadership

Dr. Franziska Emmerling, head of the Neurophysiological Leadership Lab, explained in an article for the TUM School of Management how important even a cursory understanding of the brain is for leaders to build meaningful leader-follower relationships. In the article, she explains that by conducting research at the intersection of neuroscience and leadership, she and her team work on uncovering the crucial mechanisms that affect our brain in stressful and complex situations. Additionally, Dr. Emmerling points out the value of Munich as a hotspot for exciting interdisciplinary research and emphasizes how her work with Executive MBA students from the Executive & Professional Education programs at TUM enables her to communicate “neuroscientific literacy” to the leaders of the future.
