Overview Thesis Process
General Principles
Thesis projects are designed to introduce students to rigorous academic research in the fields of marketing, technology, and data-driven inquiry.
We expect students to work independently, think analytically, and conduct their thesis according to scientific standards. In most cases, projects are empirical and quantitative in nature and aim to address relevant research questions with methodological rigor.
- Language: All theses must be written in academic English.
- Thesis Format: All thesis projects are research-driven and follow current scientific standards.
- Duration: Bachelor’s theses (3 months) and Master’s theses (6 months)
- Methodological Orientation: Thesis are generally designed as quantitative and empirical research projects. Literature reviews may be possible for Bachelor’s theses in exceptional cases.
- Style Guide: All theses should follow the formatting and style guidelines of the American Psychological Association (APA).
- Student Responsibility: Students are responsible for independently managing their thesis project, including all administrative requirements.

How to Apply
Thesis projects are individual research undertakings. Fundamentally, a thesis should demonstrate that you are able to conduct independent research over a defined period of time.

- Check eligibility and specific requirements (specifically for Masters Thesis)
- Prepare the application documents and keep the application deadlines in mind (plan ahead)

- Wait for feedback and topic matching
Two weeks after the application deadline, you will receive a notification regarding your application. Evaluations are based on personal fit, participation in prior seminars, semester, and average grade.
